Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ

Daniel Goleman first released this book 20 years ago, in 1995. At the time he was introducing a new concept to most: the impact of our emotions on our being. In this book, he espouses the belief that our emotional intelligence is equally as if not more important than our IQ. It plays an important part in every aspect of our lives, from who you are, who you marry, your relationships and success in your career. The anatomical neuroscience portion of the book can a be a bit difficult to get through if science is not your bag. However, the neuroscience portion is great background and allows you to focus on the application.

Emotional Intelligence is one of my all-time favorite books, one that I refer back to again and again. Internalizing the concepts in this book have made me a better coach. More importantly, they have made me a better person. I offer an emotional intelligence assessment called the EQ that measures it. Contact me if you would like to take it. If you haven’t read this book, I hope you will. It truly offers benefits to everyone. If you have read it before, you may want to dust it off and read it again. You will be glad you
