A Second Time Around for Success
After a bout with cancer four and half years ago, Joel Anderson saw his recovery as a second chance to blow out all the previous benchmarks of success, and he was determined to make it happen. So after Chip’s assessment testing for his current position as President and CEO of the IWLA, Joel knew he had found the right business coach.
“My goal is to be better at my job, and to be more valuable to my Board of Directors. It’s very difficult to find someone to offer an expert second opinion on management issues. My wife, my assistant, my colleagues – they all come with subjective opinions. There are too many consequences to risk a bad decision. Those decisions are where Chip comes in and makes a big impact.”
After working with Chip for four years, Joel has learned to be more direct and more objective – traits his Board of Directors wants and expects from him. Having recently wrapped up an annual Board meeting, Joel says that Chip’s coaching led to a productive, successful meeting for which he was able to create an effective agenda, instill confidence and promote valuable dialog. And those are just the tools Joel needs to keep moving his organization and his career forward.
