Corporate Assessments Case Study

When a company requires so many different kinds of people, how can they be sure they have the right mix for company success?

Putting the right people in the right seat.

Pat Riley, President and COO of the Allen Tate Company, the number one real estate company in the Carolinas, says he had always been the anti-testing personality type. He was skeptical of what he considered pre-conceived notions of corporate assessments. But as the Allen Tate Company grew, Riley realized the leadership of the company had to be able to work together and to be better equipped to make the right hires.

After working with Chip through the Charlotte Chamber, Pat, the Chamber’s Past Chairman, was impressed with Chip’s genuine approach, his caring attitude, and his smarts. He felt Chip’s expertise could guide the company’s leadership in building a better appreciation for each other, taking barriers down, justifying remediation, and in putting the right people in the right position.

Recently, Chip helped lead the Allen Tate Company Leadership retreat. Through personality testing, analyzing internal matrices, and one-on-one workshops, Chip guided the team in combining the tools they bring to the table toward better communication. The result? A team united in working toward a shared vision, with the ability to make the success and sustained growth of their company a reality.

“As a result of past successes, Chip now does an assessment test for every key position, giving us a clear understanding of who is the right person for the job and who is not.”
